Sucks For You Folks Up In The Frigid North. . . On my way home tonight I was reminded of two things: 1) Why I enjoy being a motorcyclist, and2) Why I love my Ducati. It would help to understand that the Ducati (an '04 996 Monster S4R) has a very nice Arrow exhaust system on it, and is rather loud.I pulled out of the parking lot at work and up to the light where I make a left-hand turn to head home. I was behind a Hyundai sedan with a woman of a... |

In Which I Start Down The Path To Become A Wrench "But I don't want to be a wrench, I just want to race motorcycles." Yeah, um, about that... So I have 3 crates of parts which make up a good portion of 3 YSR50 engines, (no, the parts are not distributed appropriately) which have been sitting for a year, and will no doubt have (at least) some surface rust. I've never put together engines before, but I figure a 50 cc single cylinder 2 stroke is pro... |

Givi Compatability Givi makes a "Monorack" (F425) that fits the the Kawk EX500. Anybody know if it would fit the EX250?... |

And The Universe Replies "F*CK YOU!" So I get the bike back from the shop, all under warranty and happy. I decide to meet my wife for lunch, and as I am turning into the shadows under the overpass I find..Wait for it..A brick. A brick that kicks my front tire violently to the right, causing me to lowside into the curb and flip my bike.Dammit. So Bonnie is in the shop, waiting for extensive repairs, I have some good bruises, and my eg... |

Any 3 You Like There are new bikes around whenever you wake up, so here we go again. Which 3 bikes would you wish into your garage, cost not a problem?... |

DN-01 Either I completely missed it or no one has said anything about this bike. The 2009 Honda DN-01. A "Crossover" bike. I thought that's what Sport Tourers were. When I first saw it I thought "Way cool!" And the more I looked at it, the more I'm not sure I like it style wise.Automatic transmission or a manual mode that let you "shi... |

Not A Full Moon... Have you noticed drivers being crazier than usual lately?Last night on my way home around 10pm (if you know the area: from the Drum Hill Not-a-Rotary, I hopped on Route 3 for one exit, to take 40 home), I encountered a crazy person in a new silver Accord (nifty headlight design on those things).I was only on 3 for one exit, so I stuck to the right lane. This dude came flying up behind me and craw... |

(non)Moral Dilemma So, I have an old bike, just like the userpic...It does not currently shift right. The local Theater wants to 'rent' it as a prop, and is willing to pay/transport, etc.Where do I start bidding on a month or so of not being able to work on it over the winter when I really can't work on it anyway...and it's not my primary ride? All I really want is to have it fixed up.Cosmetically it's nearly per... |

Update The SV is running great after the fuel tank exchange. The F2 is down because I'm a slacker. The Mille is oh so sweet, as usual. The GSX-R is ready to roll 88,000 with no complaints thus far. Funny what joy a new wire harness can bring. The interesting thing is this ... I've noticed when I ride the gixxer or the Mille and split lanes up to the front at a stoplight, that no other motorcyclist w... |

That Was Too Easy... Well, the top end is off. I followed my Clymer book to the letter and everything went smoothly. I did manage to loose a circlip, but I am going to open the lower end and I am sure I will find it. You can see pictures here: http://www.grovesphotography.net/engine_web/I have two questions. One, what is the best way to remove an old head gasket without scoring the mating surface, and two, what is the... |

At Least 50 Miles A Day Been riding all over creation^WMassachusetts lately, taking glamour shots of my bike in the process. "We take pictures of our motorcycles like other people take pictures of their children."The Robert Goddard memorial in Worcester. Father of modern rocketry. I love that Jimmy Neutron's dog is named for him. (That's the CBR, not my S, in the pic...)The Minuteman statue in Lexington center. Mere... |

Non-profit Motorcycle Atty, Group? Guess who is now told she can't renew her license in NV in 2010 until she clears up a stupid ticket in CA? Ah yes... the beauty of the state taking $$ for another state by linking of records.... which 'of course' is to 'protect us'... grrr..... What is all this about? Riding my first motorcycle (1985 kawasaki 450) in the HOV lane on the SF Bay bridge years ago. The revenue procurement system c... |

Wanna Know How Well Your Flip Front Lid Would Do In A Crash? SHARP, the UK Government's helmet testing and rating lab, have just started putting 'System' (i.e. flip front) lids through their paces. In addition to the star rating for protection for flip fronts, they also give you a percentage figure for the number of test impacts where the front remained fully locked (i.e. the helmet remained 'full face'). See here for the 20 best selling 'system' lids teste... |

End V1.0, Begin Build Of V2.0 she held out as long as she could. I rode her hard and wet, and she came back for more. That is, until the other day...I knew the bike needed a rebuild on the engine. I went to ride her out to my girlfriend's place and noticed her idling rough, and seeming not have her full power, so I parked her and took the cage. Back when I first thought about it, most estimated two grand to do it for me. I fig... |

And The Jury Is Still Out. Attorneys make closing arguments in Gear trialThe judge is giving the jury the option of finding Gear guilty of Voluntary Manslaughter. I think that's what they will come back with. That'll give him a minimum of 10 years according to Georgia State Law.Hopefully they'll post video on there soon.... |

Survey/ Question/ Input subject on my mind lately, say you're out on the backroads canyon carving, tearing up some twisties, maybe 10 to 20 miles from a gas station. what tools/ stuff do you typically bring with you, just in case number two occurs?guy I was out with last week had an interesting thought- in addition to the regular items, he brings strips of duct tape (actually "gaff tape" seeing as how it's black and mad... |
